Actually, I asked my brother to come and cut it down, as he has some ridiculously oversized chainsaw for some reason. And chaps etc.
It has a short bar on it for most of the pics, he only put the long bar on it to cut the stump off.
Here he is just starting out.
And what it looked like pretty much before starting. Shaded an area that didn’t need shade, and took up lawn space. We have a tiered back yard, so usable area is handy.
Oh it also had a steel pole up the middle tied to the tree, I assume to stop the branches all falling outward… so we removed that first.
And we just kept hacking at it. Well, my brother did. I just cleaned up after him.
Cut into lengths suitable for the fire as we went. I still have a few bits I need to split.
Oh yeah, went through the little vege garden… that’s ok, it’s not used yet and we need new plastic anyway.
Hacking the stump off at ground level.
Exciting stuff, I know.
